Victron System Troubleshooting Guide

If you're experiencing issues with your Victron-based power system, please follow this troubleshooting guide to identify and potentially resolve the problem. This guide also provides a form to upload photos and detailed information to assist our team in diagnosing your system.

Step 1: Gather Information

Before diving into troubleshooting, answer the following questions about your system:

  1. Who installed this system?
Have you contacted the original installer for assistance?
  2. When was the system installed (approximately)?
Knowing the age of the system helps determine potential wear and tear.
  3. Did the system work originally? If yes, for how long?
This helps us understand whether the issue is new or recurring.
  4. Have you experienced any extreme temperatures recently (hot or cold)?
    Environmental factors can affect performance.
  5. Have you updated the firmware on all of your equipment?
Outdated firmware can cause compatibility and performance issues.

Step 2: Perform Visual and Basic Diagnostics

  1. Does the system show any faults?
Check for red lights, error codes in Victron Connect, or any other indicators of malfunction.
  2. What happens when you power the system off and back on?
A reset may temporarily resolve minor issues.
  3. Have you checked all the fuses in your system to ensure they are not blown?
Inspect every fuse carefully and replace any that are blown.
  4. Do you see any loose wires or wires that are not terminated correctly?
Look for physical issues, such as disconnected or damaged wires.

Step 3: Assess System Performance

  1. What loads were you running when the system stopped working?
Understanding the load can help identify potential overload issues.
  2. What is your battery voltage right now?
Use a multimeter or the Victron Connect app to check the battery voltage.
